Dr. Wade Dyke is CEO of Great Hearts Academies, a nonprofit network of charter schools serving 17,000 students in Arizona and Texas. He was a pioneer in the field, helping to start Chancellor Beacon Academies, now Imagine Schools, in 1999. He spent 10 years at Kaplan in several positions, lastly as Executive Vice President of Higher and Professional Education.
Early in his career, he served as chief of staff to the Secretary and the Deputy Secretary of Education during the administration of President George H.W. Bush. At the department, he drafted the first Executive Order on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans.
Working for the governor of Wisconsin, he developed apprenticeship programs to create a more seamless transition from high school to work and college.
Dyke holds a doctorate in politics from Oxford University. He earned a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He was a Rhodes Scholar, White House Fellow and assistant professor at Ohio State University.
